I trust the path unfolding before me

September 14th, 2025

On Sunday morning, just after teaching my Sunday morning class, I stroll down the lovely central path on 13th avenue. I pass by some words carved into the pavement: "God loves Me" accompanied by the biblical reference from John. Another message on the ground reads: "Smile. Life is Beautiful". I smile. Life is Beautiful indeed.

I gaze up at the beautiful trees around me, and sense that each of them has a story to tell. I want to stop and touch all of them. However, I lift my eyes and keep taking in their beauty.

At some point, I feel the need to sit and pause. I find this perfect spot in the shade beneath this gorgeous tree with intricate roots and branches. I look up and ask: "what is your message?" Then I close my eyes. And I breathe.

I immediately notice that my breath is strained. So, I relax my next breath, taking the air in an out slowly. I breathe deeply, without forcing it. I can feel my chest and ribs expanding and softening, my diaphragm stretching. It feels as though my breath is gently pushing and massaging me from the inside. I begin to yawn, and the yawns continue to emerge from deep within me. My muscles are relaxing, releasing.

A single tear gently rolls down my right cheek, followed by several more, each rolling as if in slow motion. I continue yawning and breathing into my open Heart, unaware of the noise or cars passing by.

In this moment suspended in time, I am here, with the tree and the breeze enveloping me.

Before departing, I lay my hand on the tree, thanking her. Suddenly, I realize, those tears... I have been feeling significant pain and discomfort in my right eye all week. The tension is magically alleviated.

Later that day, I pull a card from my "Secrets of the Ancestors" oracle deck. The card is Root of the Earth, representing Inspired Action. The Spirit Ancestor associated with it is High "John" the Conqueror. Its message: "To honor this ancestral root energy, stop sitting on your ideas and take the next step". Thank You. A much-needed message.

Guidance. Higher guidance is always there, always available to us, and is to be found in even the smallest pauses.
